Corcoran Smith Law

Corcoran Smith Law is a California law firm focused on protecting heirs, beneficiaries, and families in inheritance disputes and estate litigation. Periapse Labs had the honor of rebuilding their website from the ground up, migrating away from a fragmented and broken Duda deployed website to a fast, Astro powered website.

Before

The before was a bit of a mess, understandably. However, we’ve come to understand this is the rule for legal websites rather than the exception. Duda powered website with lots of tags, a malformed navigation bar on the home page (that worked on other pages), hard to read text that was not working with accessibility guidelines, and some pretty rough paid landing pages.

Surfacing The Brand

One thing that was really interesting about the brand was capturing the elephant with intention “Seeing The Elephant”. The law firm is truly unique and capturing the formidable but caring elephant in the copy we produced and in the theme was challenging.

Scope

This project was end-to-end complete rebuild where we checked, fixed (where needed), and refined all the following:

• DNS Records
• Canonical Agreement (www vs non-www)
• Fixed website structure, including 301 to new pages replacing old content
• DMARC, SPF validation
• Fixed broken google analytics tags (split between 3 properties)
• Fixed Google Tag Manager configuration
• Hooked up website form conversion to Google Tag Manager
• New page(s) highlighting services to competitively rank against local firms
• Implemented LLMS.txt and other AI-adjacent recommendations to ensure that agentic users can properly find, navigate, and understand the firm
• Lead with an Authority first SEO strategy where we focus on building the authority of the firm through it’s brand, the staff, and reviews

AI SEO Strategy Results: 10x

Our AI SEO Strategy for law firms is going to be the same for all websites we work on: how can we make sure the AI understands the brand and finds the brand credible? How can we make sure that the AI is recommending the right legal firm for a specific kind of work?

We think that has paid off, with a 10x increase in agentic traffic surfacing content and trust that already existed, we simply had to make sure that it was obvious for agentic systems. This includes content that was already written, as well as making sure we are communicating just how world-class the legal counsel is through experience, writing, and authoritative citations.

Google Results: 100% Increase in Impressions & Clicks

In addition to delivering a 10x increase in agentic traffic, we found a 100% increase in impressions & clicks from Google Search Console in our first 45 days live with the site.

Looking Forward

Looking forward, we’re still missing some important data to build even more trust for Corcoran Smith Law Corp, but we’re really happy with the work we’ve done so far.

We’re going to continue working with them as part of our ongoing retainer service where we can continue to monitor the trajectory of the website, it’s trust signals, and make sure we are capturing everything we need to in order for the firm to be successful.
