Laravel development services

Idiomatic Laravel, straight from the source. We've been building production applications since 2015: from focused small projects to platforms scaling to tens of thousands of users.

What we do.

Built to Laravel standards

We follow the conventions and best practices from the Laravel team themselves. Form requests, policies, Eloquent models, service classes, and jobs are used where they belong.

Inertia.js, Vue, and Tailwind

Our preferred stack for modern Laravel applications. Laravel owns the routing and business logic while Vue handles rich interaction through Inertia.js, without a separate API application.

Queue and job processing

Background jobs, scheduled tasks, and queued notifications handled properly, with Horizon or native queue workers, depending on your scale.

Authentication and authorization

Laravel Sanctum or Breeze for auth, SSO via SAML or OpenID Connect when your organization needs it, and Gates and Policies for fine-grained access control. No bolted-on role systems.

Testing included

Feature and unit tests for critical paths written as part of the build. PHPUnit or Pest. Your call.

Deployment and infrastructure

We prefer Laravel Cloud for new launches, and also support Laravel Forge or custom AWS deployments provisioned with Terraform.

Git access from day one

We work in Git and give your team administrator access to the project repository from day one, so you can watch the build take shape. At exit, we transfer the repository to you, or we can maintain it with framework upgrades, CVE remediation, and ongoing patches.

Legacy Laravel modernization

Bring an older Laravel app all the way forward.

We modernize Laravel applications from version 5 through the current supported release. Sometimes that means a careful version-by-version upgrade. Sometimes abandoned packages and outdated architecture require targeted rewrites. We can handle both.

The goal is not just a newer version number. It is a secure, maintainable application that preserves the business logic worth keeping and is easier for your team to build on.

A practical upgrade path
We audit the framework, PHP version, dependencies, tests, data, and integrations, then map the safest route through each breaking change.
Dead packages, replaced or rewritten
When a critical package has been abandoned, we replace it with a maintained alternative or rewrite the capability around current Laravel conventions.
Secure and maintainable again
We address known CVEs, restore test coverage around critical workflows, and leave the application ready for routine framework and dependency updates.
Building since 2015

A decade of Laravel, no shortcuts.

We started with Laravel 5 and have built through every major release since. Small, focused apps. Platforms that had to grow. APIs that had to stay up. We know where the framework shines and where the temptation to cut corners leads you six months later.

We don't invent our own patterns. We follow what the Laravel team teaches: clean service classes, proper Eloquent relationships, form requests instead of controller bloat, policies instead of scattered auth checks. The result is an app your next developer can open without needing a guide.

FAQ

Questions, answered straight.

Common questions about this service.

Do you follow Laravel best practices?

Yes, straight from the Laravel team. We use form requests for validation, policies for authorization, service classes for business logic, and Eloquent modeled correctly from day one. No custom frameworks layered on top of what Laravel already gives you.

How long have you been building with Laravel?

Since 2015, back when it was still on version 5. We've shipped apps that started small and grew to tens of thousands of active users, and we know where the scaling pressure points show up before they become problems.

Can you rebuild an existing application?

Yes. Application rebuilds are a significant part of what we do, taking apps that have grown painful to work in and reshaping them with clean architecture and current Laravel conventions. We assess what to keep, what to rewrite, and where the real complexity lives.

How do you quote a Laravel application?

Every application is different. We start with the business outcome, users, workflows, integrations, risks, and what already exists. From there we define a practical first release and provide a written quote for the team and work it requires.

Why choose Periapse over other Laravel shops?

We're small and agile on purpose. We work nights and weekends to deliver a narrow product that does exactly what you need, nothing bolted on to pad the invoice. Nothing is outsourced: the engineers you talk to write the code. We also audit and maintain existing Laravel apps, not just build new ones. And if we think we're not the right fit, we'll say so and look through our partner network for another independent senior developer who can probably take your project on.

What does testing look like?

We write feature and unit tests for critical paths as part of the build, not as a separate line item. PHPUnit and Pest are both fine. We default to Pest on new projects.

What do I get when the build is done?

Full source code, deployment configuration, and local dev setup instructions. The app runs without us. Bring us back for the next phase if you want us to keep building, or hand it off whenever you choose.

Will we have access to the Git repository during development?

Yes. We work in Git and give your team administrator access to the project repository from day one, so you can follow the build as it happens. When the engagement ends, we transfer the repository to you. If you prefer ongoing support, we can continue managing it through our maintenance package, including Laravel framework upgrades, CVE remediation, and security and bug patches.

How do I host it?

Your call. We prefer Laravel Cloud for new launches, but we also support Laravel Forge and custom AWS deployments provisioned with Terraform. Run it on your own infrastructure with the deployment configuration we hand over, or let us host it for you. If we host it, we also do passive bug fixing: when exceptions come in, we see them and fix them, often before you'd have noticed. Hosting is a separate monthly fee, entirely optional, and you can take the app in-house whenever you want.

How we engage

The engagement fits the mission.

We do not force unlike problems into the same package. We understand the outcome, assemble the right senior capability, and give you a clear quote for the work in front of us.

  • Direct access

You work directly with the engineers actually doing the build, the people who know your codebase, reachable by email.

  • Scoped to the mission

We shape the team, timeline, and engagement around the actual problem, then put it in a written quote before work begins.

  • Everything is yours

All the code, all the configuration. No proprietary tools that create a dependency on us. Any developer can pick it up after we're gone.

Work with us

Let's make our closest approach.

Tell us the outcome you need, the obstacle in the way, and what is at stake. We will come back with our honest read, a clear approach, and a quote shaped around the work.
